SEEKING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST GREENLAND HALIBUT (TURBOT) AND NORTHERN COD – 2026 SEASON
NDC Fisheries Limited is soliciting expressions of interest from fisherpersons who are interested in harvesting Greenland Halibut (Turbot) and Northern Cod during the 2026 fishing season.
Interested fishers must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). You may obtain the application by calling Denley Rumbolt, Fisheries Development Officer, at 709.921.6569 or email [email protected].
Eligibility Criteria
Priority will be given to those harvesters who meet all Eligibility Criteria as set out below; however, other harvesters may be considered if there are not enough eligible harvesters to fill the quotas.
- – Be in good standing with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and eligible to harvest as per DFO regulations
- – Must be an enterprise owner and vessel owner in the fleet which they are applying
- – Vessel must be registered with Transport Canada
- – Be a member of the NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC)
- – Be a full-time resident of Labrador
- – For turbot, have a minimum of three (3) NCC crew members if part of the supplementary fleet, or two (2) NCC crew members if part of the inshore fleet. Please note this does not include the vessel owner. Minimum crew requirements do not apply to inshore cod harvesting
- – Agree to harvest at the royalty percentage as set by NDC Fisheries Limited
- – Agree to land all NDC Fisheries quotas in Labrador
- – Agree to harvest NDC Fisheries quota with their own vessel
- – Agree to report catch statistics as required by DFO, processing facility, and NDC Fisheries Limited
