Funding and Support Eligibility

Whether You’re A New Entrepreneur Or Have Been In Business For Years, We Offer A Range Of Funding And Support Assistance Options To Accelerate Your Business Growth.

Our funding and support eligibility are as follows:

Consultant Advisory Services (CAS) Funding:
CAS Funding helps businesses to conduct valuable research and develop marketing strategies to better help them reach clients.

An entrepreneur that is interested in starting their own business and will require the assistance of a consultant to complete a business plan will be eligible for funding. This funding will not exceed 75% of the total consulting cost, to a maximum of $6500 (before taxes). The entrepreneur will be responsible for the remaining 25% and any amount over $6500.

An entrepreneur that is currently working full-time with their business and seeking assistance with marketing research, strategies or materials will be eligible for up to 75% of the total consulting cost, to a maximum of $5000 (before taxes). The entrepreneur will be responsible for the remaining 25% of the cost and any amount over $5000.

Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) Funding
SEA Funding helps unemployed or underemployed persons secure the support they need to start and support their own business.

The NunatuKavut Business Centre, in partnership with NunatuKavut Community Council offers a Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) program to entrepreneurs who are unemployed or underemployed (working less than 20 hours per week) and starting a new business. The Self Employment Assistance (SEA) allows entrepreneurs to concentrate on making their new business succeed.

The SEA Funding benefit shall be applied for no later than 6 months after the start of the business. Entrepreneurs must be members of NunatuKavut Community Council, working full-time toward the business, and must provide a professional business plan upon completion of the program. Entrepreneurs are also expected to provide activity reports for the duration of the program. Self-Employment Assistance shall not exceed 8 months and the benefit shall not exceed a maximum amount of $8,000.

NunatuKavut Entrepreneur Training (NET) Program
The NET Program provides business owners with funding for the purposes of offsetting the costs associated with training programs.

The NunatuKavut Entrepreneur Training (NET) Program provides NunatuKavut Business owners/key staff financial assistance for training purposes. It allows participants to attend and complete skills training by alleviating program costs or travel expenses incurred. Training must be directly related to their business operations and provide proof of training upon completion.

This funding is available to qualified individuals on the recommendation of the Centre’s Business Advisor and exists to assist businesses in acquiring key training in order to effectively run their business. Entrepreneurs will be eligible for up to 75% of the total training cost, to a maximum of $3500 (before taxes). The entrepreneur will be responsible for the remaining 25% of the cost and any amount over $3500.

Community Business Development Corporations (CBDC)

CBDC offers financial assistance in the form of loans, loan guarantees and equity financing to existing and aspiring entrepreneurs, women interested in starting or expanding a business, youth wishing to start an enterprise, and entrepreneurs wishing to commercialize or adopt new technologies.
