Human Resources Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as Human Resources Manager. Reporting to the CEO, the HR Manager will be responsible for the performance, health, and well-being of Nunacor’s most valuable asset—its people.

About the Role

As a member of the Senior Management Team, this newly created position will lead the human resource and safety functions for Nunacor and its group of companies.

Human Resources Responsibilities: The successful candidate will plan and execute a human resource strategy that enables sustainable growth for Nunacor and its companies while maintaining compliance with federal and provincial labour standards.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
  • Setting a clear and compelling vision for attracting, developing, training, and retaining exceptional talent while fostering their professional growth within the company.
  • Designing compensation and benefits packages that reward high performance across the organization.
  • Maintaining the employee benefits program.
  • Conducting employee performance evaluations.
  • Fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Developing and implementing an employee wellness plan.
  • Ensuring strong policies, systems, compliance, and practices are in place to meet the business needs and culture of the organization.

Safety Responsibilities: The HR Manager will effectively manage Nunacor’s safety programs to ensure the ongoing safety of Nunacor’s employees and customers. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing and fostering a culture of safety across all Nunacor companies.
  • Ensuring ongoing legal compliance with safety regulations.
  • Developing and maintaining all policies, procedures, and documentation required for the safety program.
  • Conducting workplace inspections as needed.
  • Identifying workplace hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing appropriate controls to mitigate risks.
  • Managing and maintaining required employee training programs.
  • Conducting internal audits as necessary.
  • Identifying and addressing any non-conformities.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of workplace incidents.
  • Leading the organization’s Occupational Health & Safety Committee.
  • Providing regular updates on safety program developments to the Senior Management Team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • OH&S Committee Training Certificate.
  • Proven track record of strategic HR and safety leadership in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
  • Expertise in organizational design, performance management, leadership development, and conflict resolution.
  • A passion for people, safety, and workplace culture.
  • Strong instincts for managing and developing talent.
  • A positive attitude and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple competing priorities.
