Description
This is a combined effort of Father, Mother, Son Group. The main business currently is art and craft products inspired by our indigenous culture, history and nature. We did do water based tours out of Cartwright as Experience Labrador but this portion has been suspended and our only tours currently that are land based and the focus is on art and craft tourism. We work in Hide, wood and antler for drums, Pewter, silver, copper, nickel and bronze, potter’s clay and glass.
George was given the right to make hand drums by a Mik’maq Elder from Nova Scotia and she taught him to make them the same as she did. He taught his son, Tom. Pete helps where needed. He was the pewter artist prior to turning this part of the business to Tom
Tom participates in all aspects of the businesses. He has studied metal smithing and is a certified metal clay instructor and CAD operator. His main concentration currently is pewter craft for wholesale and retail trade.
Pete is an artist who currently helps George and Tom in their work and works full time instruction some craft/art media, designing & creating art pieces for wholesale and retail trade.
Tom and Pete work together on metal arts.
